Japan reiterates to support Pakistan’s security forces against terrorism

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Japan has reiterated its commitment to continue to support Pakistan’s government and its valiant security forces to combat terrorism. In a condolence message, Japan’s Charge d’ Affaires in Islamabad, SHINDO strongly condemned the two separate terrorist attacks on security personnel and private guards in Gwadar and North Waziristan.

While appreciating the efforts of Pakistani security forces in maintaining peace and stability, he said any act of terrorism cannot be justified for whatever reason or purpose. He said Japan has been supporting various projects of counter-terrorism in Pakistan, including improvement of facilities and equipment of law enforcement agencies dealing with counter-terrorism.

People reject politics based on personal interests: Nadeem Qureshi

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Parliamentary Secretary for Information Nadeem Qureshi says people have rejected the politics of opposition, based on personal interests. Commenting on Pakistan Democratic Movement’s public gathering in Gujranwala, he said people are well aware of the opposition’s drama being staged to get NRO. Nadeem Qureshi said the opposition is misleading people through hollow slogans.

Fakhar Imam calls for adopting modern technology to increase per acre wheat production

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam has stressed the need for expanding the areas of cultivable lands and adopting modern agricultural technology to increase per acre wheat production. Speaking in a talk show programme of PTV, he said more investment in rural areas is essential for agricultural growth in the country.

Fakhar Imam said despite the impediments due to 18the Amendment, the Ministry of National Food Security is devising short, medium and long term policies to achieve the desired goals in minimum period. He said Pakistan still self-sufficient in production of essential food commodities despite rapid growth in population during 73 years.

Political leadership of liberated territory unanimous on Kashmir issue, freedom from India: Masood

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan says despite political differences, political leadership of the liberated territory is unanimous on the Kashmir issue, freedom from India, and the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

Addressing a public gathering near Rawalakot, he said Kashmiris want accession of the whole Kashmir with Pakistan and it will be decided by the people of Jammu and Kashmir collectively. Masood Khan said the people of Azad Kashmir have rendered great sacrifices to win freedom and become part of Pakistan. He said Pakistan is the only country which courageously and firmly stands with Kashmiri people, and we need to further strengthen our bonds with the state of Pakistan.

Microsoft expresses willingness to collaborate with Pakistan on different technological initiatives

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Microsoft has expressed its willingness to collaborate with Pakistan on different technological initiatives. The assurance was given by Country Director of Microsoft for Pakistan, Shahzad Khan, during a meeting with Federal Secretary Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui in Islamabad.

They discussed various digital initiatives and avenues for collaboration. It was agreed during the meeting that possible investment avenues will be explored towards establishing support centers, cloud infrastructure and training programs. Country Director of Microsoft appreciated the initiatives taken by Ministry of IT and Telecommunication to enhance digital outreach in the country according to the vision of Digital Pakistan.

Former rulers involved in money laundering: Shahbaz Gill

Talking to a private news channel, he said the PML-N leaders have crossed all limits of moral decency in their speeches during the Opposition’s rally. Shahbaz Gill said Khwaja Asif has exposed himself by using provocative language.

Prime Minister to announce future course of action for Tiger Force today

Islamabad, October 17, 2020 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan will give future course of action to the Tiger Force and decide the roadmap of new responsibilities for them at a ceremony today (Saturday). This was stated by Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar while talking to media in Islamabad. He said the Tiger Force is working as a facilitator to fill the gap of human resource in administration. Usman Dar said development of youth is top priority of the Prime Minister.
