(Govt): Committee for implementing SOPs

Quetta:Government of Balochistan has constituted a committee for implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Testing Strategy for “Educational Institutions”.

A notification issued by Government of Balochistan, Health Department says, “With the prior approval of the Competent Authority, Government of Balochistan, Health Department is pleased to constitute the following committee for implementation of SOPs and Testing Strategy for Education Institutions”:

(i) Deputy Commissioner, Chairman (ii) District Health Officer, Member (iii) District Education Officer, Member.” It further says, TORs; (1) The District Education Officers/ Education Institute’s Heads (Principal/ Headmaster) are responsible to facilitate all COVID-19 Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) for screening and sampling at education institutes, maintain and submit the data on daily basis with Committee for further submitting to COVID-19 operation cell, Health Department (2) The D.H.Os have to notify RRT teams for Schools/Colleges/ Educational Institutes for taking samples and fill the proforma of symptomatic/ suspected individuals as per criteria (5 percent of students, 5-10 percent of teachers and administrative staff of each institution).

At least 100 samples/ per day to be conducted and to be dispatched / transported to PHRL, Quetta. The results of these tested samples will be available on CMDU website within 24-36 hours. Login and password have already been shared with all districts (3) The District Education Officer will ensure SOPs and adequate manpower at all Schools / Colleges/ Educational Institutes for maintaining discipline (to ensure observance to distancing norms, face mask and other preventive measures at all times) during the classes. (4) Deputy Commissioners of the Districts are over all responsible for implementation of SOPs and testing strategy for Education Institutions).”

(Govt): Reshuffle in Balochistan police

Quetta:In a reshuffle in Police Department. Muhammad Azhar Akram (PSP/BS-20), DIGP, Headquarters, CPO, Quetta has been transferred and posted as DIGP Quetta. He will hold the additional charge of Additional IGP, Quetta Range Quetta.

Agha Muhammad Yousaf (PSP/BS-20), DIGP, Kalat Range at Khuzdar has been transferred and posted as DIGP, Headquarters, CPO Quetta vice Muhammad Azhar Akram. Allah Bakhsh alias Javed Akhtar Odho (PSP/BS-20) DIGP, Special Branch, Balochistan Quetta has been transferred and posted as DIGP, Kalat Range at Khuzdar vice Agha Muhammad Yousaf.

Captain (retd) Parvaiz Ahmed Chandio (PSP/BS-20), DIGP, Sibi Range Sibi has been transferred and posted as DIGP, Special Branch, Balochistan, Quetta vice Allah Bakhsh alias Javed Akhtar Odho.

Syed Fida Hassan Shah (PSP/BS-20), Deputy Commandant, BC, Quetta has been transferred and posted as DIGP, Sibi Range vice Parvaiz Ahmed Chandio.

Syed Ali Asif (PSP/BS-19), SSP, District Jaffarabad has been transferred and posted to Quetta. Capt (retd) Ghulam Azfar Mahesar (PSP/BS-19), AIGP, Operations, CPO, Quetta has been transferred and posted as SSP, Operation, Quetta vice Tariq Illahi Mastoi.

Iftikhar Ahmed (SP/BS-18), under orders of transfer as Zonal Commander, BC-Zone-II, Quetta has been transferred and posted as SSP, District Jaffarabad vice Syed Ali Asif, says a notification issued by the office of Central Police Office, Balochistan, Quetta here on Wednesday.

(Govt): Balochistan amends procurement rules

Quetta:Government of Balochistan has made amendments in the Balochistan Public Procurement Rules, 2014.

A notification issued by Government of Balochistan, Finance Department says, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 27 of the Balochistan Public Procurement Regulatory Authority Act, 2009 (Balochistan Act No. VIII of 2009), the Government of Balochistan is pleased to make following amendments in the Balochistan Public Procurement Rules, 2014, namely; In the aforesaid rules, In rule 51, in sub rule (1), in clause (b), for sub clause (viii), the following shall be substituted; “In case of emergency; “Provided that the Head of the Department with the prior approval of the Chief Secretary, declares that a situation of emergency has arisen and reasons for making such a declaration shall be recorded in writing after taking approval of the Chief Minister.”

Minister: (Govt has been successful in creating peace, harmony in society: Info Minister)

Islamabad:Information Minister Shibli Faraz has said the government has been successful in creating peace and harmony in the society by pursuing dialogue and inclusiveness.

He was speaking at an International Conference titled ‘An Inclusive and Peaceful Society in Pakistan: Challenges and Opportunities here on Wednesday.

He said government has achieved this under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and with the help of religious leaders. He said Pakistan has almost been successful in overcoming its financial, social and strategic challenges through promotion of inclusiveness.

Shibli Faraz said we have to make Pakistan a great country of great people where there is no place for hate, violence and extremism. The Information Minister expressed his pleasure that the International Islamic University in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission has prepared an action plan for promotion of peace and peaceful coexistence in Pakistan which will be implemented in next five years.

Appreciating the Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative of International Islamic University, Shibli Faraz said this consensus document provides us guidance to promote patriotism and manage difficult issues in a peaceful manner.

He stressed that the institutions of higher education should promote research to find solutions of problems. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri said that students are the precious asset of the country. Qasim Khan Suri said that using social media, these students can easily portray the soft image of the country before the world.

Governor: (Govt put national economy on right path: Governor)

ISLAMABAD:Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said government has put the national economy on right path through prudent policies.

He was talking to the Chairperson Punjab Women Protection Authority Kaneez Fatima Chadhar who called on him in Lahore on Monday.

The Governor said those who are trying to create instability in the country will not succeed in their nefarious designs.

(Govt): All set for 5-day polio drive

Quetta: Deputy Commissioner Sibbi, Dr. Yasir Khan Bazai said that government has been working on war-footing basis to fight polio disease.

Presiding over a meeting here, he said target has been set to eliminate polo from the area. Urging polio workers to motivate parents, He said all segments of society will have to play their role to get rid of polio.

On the occasion, District Health Officer, Dr. Akbar Solungi, Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital Sibi, Dr. Rafiq Mastoe, Dr. Zafar, District Support Manager, People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI), Muhammad Anis Mandokhail and others were also present.

District Health Officer Dr. Akbar Sulangi said that all arrangements for five-day-anti-polio drive (September 21 to September 25, 2020) had been finalized and 43865 children below the age of five would be administered with anti-polio drops during anti-polio campaign to be kicked off from September 21.
