Islamabad: Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has said Pakistan is committed to bring peace in Afghanistan. Islamabad: Information Minister Senator Syed Shibli Faraz has said that the commencement of the Intra-Afghan dialogue is a historical milestone and a dawn for the war-torn Afghan people. In a tweet on Sunday, he said this initiative is victory of Prime Minister Imran Khan's stance that a political settlement is the only solution to the long-standing Afghan issue. Islamabad:Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan will continue to be a force for a stable and prosperous region. In a tweet on Saturday on the commencement of Intra-Afghan Negotiations, he said it is a historic day for Afghan peace process. The Foreign Minister said Pakistan has long maintained that peace, not war, is the answer. He said we are proud to champion a partnership for peace and move forward with faith and resolve that will not be deterred.

Minister: (Holding of intra-Afghan dialogue indispensable to ensure Afghan peace process: FM)

ISLAMABAD:Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that early holding of intra-Afghan dialogue is indispensable to ensure Afghan peace process. In a telephonic conversation with Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Haneef Atmar on Thursday, he said peace and stability in the region is linked to peace in Afghanistan. He said, apart from maintenance of peace in Afghanistan, Pakistan is also desirous of early and dignified repatriation of the Afghan refugees. The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue its reconciliatory efforts for regional peace and stability including Afghan peace process. Both the foreign ministers also held detailed discussion with regard to promotion of bilateral cooperation and enhancing regional contacts.
