(Court): SHC extends interim bail of chief minister’s advisor, others

Karachi:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday extended the interim bail of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Aijaz Jakhrani and others.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) claimed to have completed another inquiry against Jakhrani and others. The NAB prosecutor informed the court that an inquiry had been completed against the accused and a reference would be filed soon. According to the NAB prosecutor, Jakhrani and others had committed corruption in the name of development projects and NAB has got important evidence against the accused persons.

The court ordered NAB to file a reference against accused persons and it sought a report within six weeks. The court directed the NAB prosecutor to forward the copy of these orders to director general NAB Sukkur. The court extended the interim bail of Aijaz Jakhrani, Fareed Mugheri, Aijaz Ahmed and others till 5th October.

Islamabad:President Dr Arif Alvi has said a good package of worth eleven hundred billion rupees for Karachi and further discussion on needs of rest of Sindh is a welcome response.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said rains have devastated Karachi, the biggest tax payer of the country. He said reviving its economy rests on its infrastructure, water supply, rain drains and sewage. He said Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf cooperation in earnest can do wonders to lift his city out of misery.
