QUETTA:Yousaf Kakar, President, Junior Teachers Association has said if government did not accede to the demands of Junior Teachers Association, protest demonstrations would be organized on March 10 which would be followed by observing hunger strike till death strike on March 15, 2021.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Saturday, he said that junior teachers had set up a symbolic hunger strike camp outside Quetta Press Club in support of their demands since February 10, 2021 which was still continuing, but no government authority had bothered to pay heed to the legitimate demands of junior teachers of the province.
He demanded of the authorities that the posts of junior teachers of the province be upgraded on the pattern of the government of the Punjab which had granted up-gradation to junior teachers. He said according to a notification issued by the provincial government during the year 2006, Primary School Teachers possessing BEd degree with 10 years service at their credit were to be promoted to the rank of Senior Science Teacher (SST), but, he added, that the mentioned notification had not yet been implemented due to one reason or the other.
