Global venture capitalists and corporate partners are showing significant interest in Pakistan”s burgeoning technology sector, with a vibrant atmosphere reported at the newly inaugurated Pakistan Pavilion at Expand North Star 2025. This surge in investor confidence coincides with the announcement that Pakistan”s global IT exports have surpassed USD 3.76 billion, marking a major milestone for the nation”s knowledge economy.

According to a report today, the pavilion was officially opened today at Dubai Harbour by Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including Mr. Rafique Ahmed Buriro, the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of IT and Telecom and CEO of Ignite, alongside other distinguished officials. The Advisor to the Finance Minister, Mr. Khurram Schehzad, was also in attendance.

During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Tirmizi highlighted the remarkable expansion of Pakistan’s IT exports to the UAE, which reached USD 376 million in the 2024-25 fiscal year. He noted this figure is part of the country”s growing footprint in international technology markets, which now totals over USD 3.76 billion globally.

Mr. Rafique Ahmed Buriro stated that the presence of Pakistani entrepreneurial firms at the major innovation gathering reflects the government”s vision to empower youth through technology and entrepreneurship. ‘These startups are not only ambassadors of Pakistan’s digital potential but also vital contributors to our national goal of achieving sustainable economic growth,’ he remarked, reaffirming a commitment to supporting the country”s start-up ecosystem.

The delegation from the Ministry of IT and Telecom and Ignite expressed pride in representing Pakistan at the premier platform, where 10 leading Pakistani companies under Ignite are presenting innovative digital products and technological solutions across diverse sectors. In total, over 40 independent Pakistani start-ups are participating in the event, which runs from October 12th to 15th.

The strong investor engagement is being seen as a sign of rising confidence in Pakistan’s ability to produce scalable and investment-ready businesses. Organizers have encouraged entrepreneurs and IT professionals to visit the Pakistan Pavilion in Hall 8 to witness the creativity driving the nation”s tech landscape and to explore opportunities for collaboration and funding.
