Amid a series of violent clashes between police and alleged criminals in different districts of the city, 11 suspected robbers including 6 injured were arrested on Saturday while a 15-year-old girl Ayesha was allegedly injured by stray bullet in New Karachi.
Ayesha Nasir was hit by a bullet coming from an unknown direction near her residence located at Nala Stop in Sector 11-F. Authorities immediately shifted her to the hospital.
In a sequence of separate law enforcement operations throughout the day, police apprehended a total of 11 suspected robbers, with six of them sustaining injuries during exchanges of fire. The incidents spanned the Central, City, Malir, and East districts.
District Central saw a significant number of shoot-outs. In North Karachi”s Sector B-7, two suspects, Abdullah and Asif Ali, were detained in a wounded state. Another operation in North Karachi”s Sector A4/5 resulted in the arrest of Yousuf, who was injured, and his accomplice Obaid. In the Buffer Zone area, authorities took Salman into custody in an injured condition alongside Izzat Meer. A fourth confrontation in North Nazimabad led to the capture of a wounded suspect named Mohammad Ali.
In District City, an exchange of firing in Chakiwara concluded with the arrest of an injured suspect identified as Anis. Meanwhile, in District Malir”s Shah Latif area, a police action resulted in the detention of two individuals; Mohammad Sameer was apprehended with injuries, while Ali Raza was also taken into custody.
An operation near Tipu Sultan Bridge in District East led to the arrest of Abdul Aziz, although his companion managed to flee the scene.
Authorities reported recovering a substantial cache from the various locations, including multiple pistols with rounds, several motorcycles, and snatched valuables such as mobile phones and a laptop.
Police officials have stated that further investigations into all the incidents are currently underway.
