On the orders of Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the terminals of five major transport companies were sealed today during a major operation to remove illegal bus terminals and booking points from within Larkana city.
The crackdown was initiated after the issue of unauthorized transport terminals was formally raised in the Sindh Assembly, upon which the Senior Minister directed the concerned authorities to take immediate action.
The district administration and the Divisional Regional Transport Authority, in a joint operation, have eliminated the illegal terminals and booking points, relocating them from the central areas of the city to designated places outside.
Mr. Memon said, “Ensuring the convenience of citizens and the smooth flow of traffic is the government’s top priority,” he confirmed that as a result of the operation, the terminals of five major transport firms were sealed.
The minister further added that the administration has worked to ensure that no vehicle operates illegally within the city, to save the public from difficulties.
To maintain the new system, the Deputy Commissioner of Larkana has been instructed to ensure continuous monitoring through designated personnel, so that no bus or coach attempts to re-enter the city for unauthorized operations.
Special checking and monitoring by the Transport Department and other authorities is also ongoing to prevent the re-establishment of illegal terminals.
