TEXPO Pakistan 2019 from 11-14 April, 2019

Lahore, April 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): The 2nd edition of TEXPO Pakistan 2019, an event of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Ministry of Commerce and Textile inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Razzak Dawood, Adviser to PM for Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production at Expo Center (Lahore).

Syed Iftikhar Hussain Babar, Federal Secretary Textile and Industry, Ms. Aliya Hamza Malik, Parliamentary Secretary, Capt. (Retd) Javed Akbar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Textile, Mr. Muhammad Sualeh Ahmed Faruqui, Secretary TDAP, Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, President FPCCI, Mr. Khuwaja Shahzad, SVP Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Shireen Arshad Khan, Vice President FPCCI were also present on the occasion.

TEXPO is a flagship sector specific trade event of the government of Pakistan where buyers from around the world are invited to visit Pakistan and meet their business partners in the country and see for themselves the whole range of textile sector being offered by Pakistan to meet their procurement needs. This year around 300 foreign buyers/ importers are visiting from 70 countries to participate in the event whereas 231 exhibitors participating in TEXPO.

This year Pakistan’s leading brands like Chen One, Rajby, Sapphire, Al Karam, Siddiq sons and Reliance Petro are participating in TEXPO along-with All Pakistan Bed sheets and Upholstery Manufacturers Association (APBUMA), Lahore Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC), Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturer Association (PHMA), Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA), Pakistan Knitwear And Sweater Exporters Association (PAKSEA), Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (TMA) etc. have set up their stalls at the Lahore Expo Center.

Afterwards, the Advisor to PM for Commerce, Textile, Industry and Production along-with Secretary TDAP held meetings with country delegations including Russia, Bahrain, USA, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Jordan Spain, Saudi Arabia.

TDAP is also organizing seminar on Trade Facilitation and Sustainability and innovative technologies in Textile on the sidelines of TEXPO 2019 at Expo Centre Lahore. TDAP will also organize with Trade Envoys’ Conference being organized on the occasion (Sunday, April 14, 2019) with an objective to provide an opportunity to the trade industry and trade diplomats to sit together and exchange mutual set of expectations and information needs, which could be converted into policy actions.

TDAP organized a B2B Secretariat to give special attention for organizing B2B meetings of foreign buyers with local exhibitors and around 3000 plus B2B meetings were conducted. MoU was also signed between Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry based in Hong Kong with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for visa facilitation and Trade Investment.

The event will contribute immensely in enhancing country’s image coupled with generating economic activity in the country in general, and within the textile export community in particular. The show will go on for the next three days i.e. 12-14, April 2019.
