The Accountability Court, Islamabad filed corruption reference against accused Khurram Rasool in abuse of authority case

Islamabad, October 30, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Accountability Court, Islamabad had filed a corruption reference against an accused Khurram Rasool in abuse of authority case. The court has convicted Khurram Rasool and awarding his seven years and five months rigorous imprisonment and Rs 80.50 million fine. The court also ordered confiscation of property of Khurram Rasool on non-payment of fine. While the real brother of Khurram Rasoom, Shahid Mehood has submitted a plea bargain application.

NAB estimated the total looted amount which was Rs 10.71 million. The plea bargain application was presented to accountability court after approval of chairman NAB. The court accepted plea bargain application. The accused has deposited Rs 10.71 million in the national exchequer. Khurram Rasool allegedly worked as media coordinator of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.
