The IT sector in Pakistan is rapidly advancing towards new heights of development

Pakistan’s information technology sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, made possible over the past three years due to the effective facilitation by the Special Investment Facilitation Council. This rapid development is positioning the country as an emerging digital economy and regional technology hub.

According to a government report released today in Pakistan, the successful hosting of major international technology events like Asia 2026 has attracted the attention of global investors and technology experts. Furthermore, initiatives such as Indus AI Week 2026 have played a crucial role in promoting artificial intelligence, advanced technology, and digital capabilities. In line with these developments, the Ministry of IT has launched the “AI Learn 2026” program, aimed at equipping the youth with skills for future needs.

SIFC’s support has also enabled the expansion of Supernet Global, which is expected to significantly increase Pakistan’s digital exports and foreign exchange earnings. Additionally, the council’s strategic focus on improving digital infrastructure has led to the launch of the 5G spectrum, which is playing a pivotal role in bringing an era of high-speed connectivity and advanced business opportunities, significantly contributing to the growth of the digital economy.

Reports indicate that the total value of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem has exceeded $4 billion this year, marking significant growth since 2020 and indicating a rise in innovation, investment, and entrepreneurial activities in the country.

Industry experts acknowledge that SIFC’s facilitation and coherent policy measures have played a vital role in transforming Pakistan’s IT sector into a robust model that meets global standards, offers significant investment opportunities, and propels digital advancement.
