The World’s Tallest RCC Diamer Bhasha Dam, a Masterpiece of Key Engineering, an Important Project for Water, Food, and Energy Supply in Pakistan

Construction of Diamer Bhasha Dam is underway in Pakistan, which is the world’s tallest Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) dam, considered a key engineering masterpiece for Pakistan’s long-term water, food, and energy security.

The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) stated today in a statement on the social media website X that this magnificent infrastructure project, which is currently underway, is of utmost importance.

Upon its expected completion, the dam will have the capacity to store 8.1 million acre-feet of water, which is extremely crucial for agriculture and domestic use. Furthermore, it is designed to generate 4,500 megawatts of electricity, which will be sourced from an inexpensive, sustainable, and environment-friendly hydropower source.
