Thousands of bags and cartons of fake pesticides and fertilizers seized in Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Ghotki, Sujawal districts

The Agriculture Department’s inspection team, in a recent crackdown, seized more than 5,000 bags and cartons of fake pesticides and fertilizers in several districts, including Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Ghotki, and Sujawal. Launched on the directives of Sindh Agriculture Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, the operation aims to protect farmers from the harmful effects of counterfeit agricultural inputs.

59 samples of the suspected products have been collected and sent for laboratory testing to determine their composition and potential harm. In Sujawal, authorities seized 400 bags of “Hapu Granules” and 68 bags of “Vertako” from an unlicensed retailer.

In a major operation in the Shaheed Fazil Rahu area of Ghotki, 1,000 bags of allegedly counterfeit “Ferterra Granules” from FMC United Private Limited were seized, along with thousands of other suspicious products. Over 40 additional samples have been collected in Sanghar and Shaheed Benazirabad for laboratory analysis.
