Naushehro Feroze:Three girls drowned in Indus River while taking bath near Mithiani on Tuesday.
The girls, Saiqa Bhart, Sana Bhart, and Hina Bhart, aged around 9 to 12, were taking bath in Indus River when they drowned at village Gulan Ja Bhan near Mithiani town in Naushehro Feroze district. The villagers recovered their bodies after hectic efforts.
The bodies were sent to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere in the village.
The people present at the Indus River said that the girls drowned while bathing, adding as long as they recovered them, they were dead. They said that parents should stop their children from bathing in the Indus River as such incidents are usually happening.
It may be noted that on 5 June 2020, seven children died after they drowned in the Indus River in Thatta’s Jhirk area. The children, three girls and four boys, had been swimming and bathing in the river to escape the heat.
