Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, today issued a stern directive to law enforcement, vowing zero tolerance for any disruption to peace and order within the federal capital and pledging that all necessary measures will be employed to safeguard citizens and property.
The directive came during a series of inspections of various police duty points across the city, where the IGP met with on-duty personnel, including women police officers, to review deployment and operational effectiveness.
Addressing senior officials who accompanied him, Rizvi emphasised the need for all duties to be carried out with professional responsibility, discipline, and courtesy towards the public. He instructed the police leadership to ensure the force remains prepared to manage any law and order situation in strict accordance with legal protocols.
The police chief further mandated that all deployed personnel must be fully equipped for their assignments. He instructed senior officers to personally conduct briefings with their staff on protocols for handling public order challenges and to physically inspect all duty posts to confirm readiness.
To ensure the effective implementation of these instructions, the IGP directed senior officers to conduct visits to different areas of the city. While outlining the stringent new measures, Rizvi also commended the force for their service, stating, “I am proud of all of you for tirelessly and bravely ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Islamabad.”
