MURREE: One person was killed while 18 others sustained injured when a van carrying tourists plunged into ravine in Murree in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to details, a van carrying members of the same family belonging to Rahim Yar Khan fell into a gorge in Aliyot area of Murree while taking a sharp turn, killing 55-year-old man Tahir Sadiq and 18 other persons including four women and five children. There was hue and cry soon after the incident.
Rescue teams reached the spot on information and shifted the body and injured to a nearby hospital. Rescue sources informed that the deceased was identified as 55-year-old Tahir Sadiq. They also said that four women and five children are among the injured. The police have lodged a report and started a probe into the incident. No arrest could be reported till filing this news. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the houses of victims.
