Traders demand compensation of shops to be demolished

QUETTA:Leaders of Markazi Anjuman Tajiran wa Dukandaran have said that their association was not against execution of development projects in Quetta rather they wanted compensation of their shops to be demolished for extension of Sariab road.

Addressing a protest demonstration held outside Quetta Press Club here on Monday, Takari Hameed Bangulzai, Haji Shair Khan, Malik Muhammad Hussain Shahwani, Haji Ayub Pirkani and others said that the government had fixed Rs690 per square feet for those shops which were to be demolished for extension of Sariab road which was not acceptable to them.

They said market value of land in Sariab road and its adjoining areas was about Rs20,0000 to 25,000 per feet. They demanded of the authorities to compensate the shopkeepers in accordance with the market rates of the area.
