The Higher Education Commission (HEC) today launched its fourth training program for senior officers at the Civil Services Academy (CSA) in Lahore. Executive Director HEC, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, inaugurated the session and was received by CSA Director General, Farhan Aziz Khawaja.
Shabbir Ahmed Zaidi briefed attendees on the training initiative, outlining the accomplishments of the previous three cohorts, the goals of the CSA, and the overall aim of the partnership.
Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, the driving force behind this endeavor, stressed the importance of HEC personnel utilizing the CSA, Pakistan”s premier training center for civil servants. He expressed his pleasure at the successful completion of the past cohorts and the start of the fourth, viewing it as a testament to the commitment to professional growth within the HEC.
The program, designed for Assistant Directors, Deputy Directors, and now Directors General/Directors, seeks to improve governance, boost administrative effectiveness, and foster integrity in higher education.
Beyond technical expertise, the sessions provide opportunities for cross-institutional learning, thoughtful dialogues, personal and professional advancement, and the exchange of leading management strategies.
With 15 senior officers participating, Cohort-IV represents a key step in the HEC”s efforts to formalize professional development. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum commended both NAHE and CSA for their collaboration and expressed his desire for a formal Memorandum of Understanding to secure ongoing training for HEC employees.
Mr. Farhan Aziz Khawaja presented a commemorative shield to Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum to conclude the ceremony.
