Tributes paid to Sajad Kenu on martyrdom anniversary

Srinagar, January 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to martyr Sajad Ahmad Kenu on the eve of his 22nd martyrdom anniversary. Indian forces martyred Sajjad Ahmad Kenu of Islamabad town on January 8, 1996. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik addressing a memorial meeting held to recall the sacrifices of martyr Sajad Ahmad Kenu said Kenu was one of pioneers of present struggle for freedom. “Martyrs like him are our real heroes and their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” he added.

He said the sacrifices of heroes like Sajad Ahmad Kenu can never be forgotten and pledged to take his mission forward with passion and zeal. He said the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not go waste. The JKDFP spokesman in a statement in Srinagar, paying tributes to Sajjad Kenu, said that mission of martyrs would be taken to its logical conclusion. These sacrifices are enough to awake the conscience of the world leadership but unfortunately the international community doesn’t put pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Chairman Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui paid glorious tributes to Sajjad Ahmed Kenu and Muzaffer Ahmed Naiko. Terming both as true sons of soil and great soldiers of Islam and freedom movement he said that their sacrifices and steadfastness would be remembered forever.
