Islamabad, July 18, 2018 (PPI-OT): Islamabad Police have arrested two persons for betting on cricket match while 27 other outlaws were held for their involvement in drug peddling, theft and other criminal activities, a police spokesman said. On a tip off, he said that SP (Investigation) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh constituted a special team of officials of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) headed by Inspector Irsahd to raid at a house in sector I-10/1 owned by Mr. Irfan where betting activities on cricket match were underway. Police team raided there and arrested two person Irfan and Abid besides recovery of stake money, seven mobile phones, LEDs and other valuables from them.
Meanwhile, Inspector Muhammad Shafique from CIA police arrested Farhad Kamal and Afzal for having a total of 2510 gram hashish while Sub-Inspector Zafar Iqbal arrested Uman Gul for having 15 gram ice. Another accused Mir Wali was also arrested for having a 30 bore pistol. Inspector Abdul Jabbar and ASI Tariq Mehmud from Secretariat police station nabbed Nazar Abbass and Shehzad for having 32 bore pistol and SMG parts. Inspectors Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Nawaz and ASI Manzoor arrested Abdul Salam, Masood Iqbal, Abdul Hanan, Barkat and Adbul Hameed for having three 12 bore guns and two 30 bore pistols. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal from Tarnol police arrested Atta for having 280 gram heroin while Yasir Shabbir was held for possessing 290 gram heroin.
Sub-Inspector Rab Nawaz arrested Shahid for having 1260 gram hashish. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Hanif from Industrial area police arrested Hamza for having 315 gram hashish while Sub-Inspector Sultan Mehmud from Sabzi Mandi police nabbed Hamee for having 320 gram hashish. ASI Zulfiqar Ali from Sihala police arrested Umair for selling petroleum products illegally while ASI Qasim Zia recovered two 30 bore pistols, two 12 bore repeater guns and ammunition from the Asim Khan, Abid, Ali Bakht and Waseem Afzal.
Sub-Inspector Muhammad Niaz from Noon police station arrested Shabeer Khan for having 1030 gram hashish while ASI Muhammad Afzal from Shehzad town police arrested Waleed Kiani for having 30 bore pistol. ASI Fawad Khalid from Koral police arrested Waqas and Shaaban for having one 30 bore pistol each and ammunition while Shamas Colony police arrested Ayub for having 30 bore pistol. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and patrolling measures in the city.
