Two elderly persons from Forward Kahuta in the Poonch sector, Malik Farooq and Chaudhry Situ, were abducted and later martyred by the Indian Army, a report said on Friday.
This incident occurred when their livestock accidentally crossed the ceasefire line into Indian territory. The two men entered Indian territory to retrieve their animals, where they were captured and killed by the Indian Army.
The Indian Army attempted to portray the incident as an act of militancy and staged a drama of weapon recovery. By not returning the bodies, India has exposed the facade of its secularism. The village has been abandoned due to Indian firing, with only a few impoverished families remaining.
The bereaved families have called on international human rights organizations to help them retrieve the bodies. It is worth noting that in 2017, in the same area, a former local leader, Nazir Shah, was similarly abducted and martyred by the Indian Army, accompanied by false propaganda.
