Two Friends Killed in Hit-and-Run by Speeding Truck

A speeding timber truck struck and killed two motorcyclists on the main National Highway here on Friday, with the driver absconding from the location immediately following the fatal collision, police said.

The incident took place near the DIG Petrol Pump in Makli, the district headquarters of Thatta. The deceased were identified as two friends, Muzammil and Abdul Ahad, both residents of Makli. The news of their sudden demise plunged their homes into a state of mourning.

According to initial information, the heavy vehicle was traveling at an excessive speed when it ran over the two riders. Emergency personnel from Rescue 1122 promptly arrived at the scene and transported the bodies of both victims by ambulance to Civil Hospital Thatta for necessary procedures.

Authorities confirmed that the truck driver abandoned the vehicle after the tragic event and fled. An investigation was underway to apprehend the suspect.
