Rangpur: Two people were shot dead in a clash between rival communities in the Rangpur area of Punjab on Monday night, police said Tuesday.

The armed clash between Lak and Ambrana communities took place at Chiragh Bela last night in which both sides used automatic weapons indiscriminately against each other. The bullets fired left two people dead and four injured on both sides. The wounded have referred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.

The slain were identified as Abdul Hameed and Mujahid Lak while the wounded were Ali Sher, Alam Sher, Muhammad Amjad and Waseem. Their condition is said to be serious.
