KHAIRPUR: Two people were killed and one other of a family injured over a land dispute near Gambat on Monday.
According to sources, some armed persons attacked the house of Wazir Ujjan in village Larhi Ujjan near Khuhra town and opened fire on the inmates. As a result, Wazir Ujjan and Rahat Ujjan were killed on the spot while another woman Naimat Ujjan injured. The armed attackers fled after swift operation.
Khuhra police on information reached the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to GIMS hospital. The bodies were handed over to the heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities. According to Khuhra police, the cause of killings was a land dispute among Narejo and Ujjan communities. The police have started further probe into the incident. Tension prevailed in the region after this tragic incident.
