Two rallies staged in Larkana against girl’s gang-rape

LARKANA: Members of Primary Teachers Association (PTA) Larkana district, took out a rally here on Monday, demanding immediate arrest of accused and justice with Bushra Rajpar who was recently kidnapped and gang-raped by criminals in Karachi.

The rally kicked off from Government Primary School of Lahori Muhalla and after marching through various roads, culminated at Jinnah Bagh where the teachers staged a sit-in. The participants were holding large placards and banners in their hands and were shouting slogans in favour of their just demand.

PTA divisional president Ali Gul Chandio while addressing the participants said that Bushra Rajpar is not only a daughter of a primary teacher and our district president Muhammad Suleman Rajpar but she is also daughter of our soil. He said daughters of Sindh are abducted, gang-raped and killed but their killers are not taken to task forthwith which is a matter of great concern.

Hajan Siyal, district Larkana president, said that faulty FIR had been registered by the police and the case should be challaned in ATC court and tried there for speedy justice. Hameedullah Tunio said that the ruling PPP was always crying on identical cases of Punjab but its lips had now been sealed as nobody had talked against it as loudly as they did for Punjab cases.

He said that severe punishment should be awarded to the accused involved in such barbaric acts and they should be made an example for others so that no such incident takes place in future across Sindh. He said parents were now extremely worried about the safety of their daughters which should be enough for the rulers to control this inhumane crime once for all without loss of time with iron hands of law. The participants unanimously demanded of the provincial Sindh government to take immediate notice and ensure arrest of all the accused and their facilitators, if any, and award them exemplary punishment to those found guilty.

Manzoor Mangi, Deedar Khokhar, Amrat Lal Oad, Abdul Khalique Channo, Ghulamullah Sangi and a large number of other teachers participated in the rally and sit-in.

Meanwhile, members of PTA Larkana taluka and City also took out a separate rally here which was led by Irshad Tunio, Oshaque Dhamrah and other teachers. They said daughters of Sindh are not safe now and the ruling class has no sympathy for them as they have not so far enacted any law against the crime.

They said parents across Sindh are extremely feeling turbulent after this tragic incident and the entire Sindh is not only shaken but disturbed. They demanded arrest and exemplary punishment to the accused kidnappers and rapists of Bushra Rajpar.
