USAID delegation calls on Chief Minister Punjab

Lahore, September 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): A delegation of USAID led by provincial director Ms. Lea Swamson called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Wednesday. A detailed briefing was given by the USAID to the Chief Minister about ongoing cooperation in different sectors in the Punjab. During the meeting, discussion was held about promoting opportunities in different sectors including healthcare, education, energy, agriculture and employment. It was also agreed to promote bilateral assistance to provide better facilities to the people.

Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that provision of best facilities to the people is the prime agenda of the Punjab government. Employment opportunities will be created for youth and far-reaching reforms will be introduced in different sectors to facilitate the masses. The government is committed to improve the capacity of social sector to better serve the general public, he added and further said that technical assistance of the USAID will be welcomed.

Director USAID Punjab Ms. Lea Swamson said that they will be happy to expand partnership with the Punjab government. Senior minister Abdul Aleem Khan along with provincial ministers Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Murad Raas, Hashim Jawan Bakht, Yasir Humayun, chief secretary, chairman P and D and others also attended the meeting. US consul general Ms. Colleen Crenwelge was also present on the occasion.
