NAUNDERO: Citizens of Bhutto leaders’ hometown held a protest demonstration in front of city’s press club on Thursday against Utility Stores authorities for selling ghee, sugar, flour, cooking oil and other items to shopkeepers instead of the poverty-stricken public.

Ghulam Qadir Morio, Mudasir Shaikh, Irshad Shahani, Allah Warayo Mangnejo, Saeed Shaikh and others while talking to newsmen said that they were standing in a queue in the sizzling hot weather to buy few essential commotoes of daily use on cheaper rates as per the federal government announcement, but the Utility Store authorities sent them back without ghee, oil and other commodities saying that the items had been sold out.

They said the federal government had established those stores for the poor, but the incharges of thee stores were minting money by selling essential items to the shopkeepers on commission basis who were later on selling ghee and oil etc on retails basis on exorbitant rates to the people due to which the efficacy of the stores had become zero as pockets of the employees and shopkeepers were being filled without any benefit to the common man.

They demanded stern action against those involved in corruption or else the stores should be closed.
