Villager killed, two injured in armed attack near Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: A villager was shot dead while his brother and a sister-in-law received serious injuries within the jurisdiction of Dakhan police station on Monday.

The armed battle took place between two rival groups of Sajjan Chandio and Meer Chandio at village Ali Khan near Dakhan. As a result of firing, youngster Meer Chandio died on the spot while his brother Ghulam Shabeer Chandio and his brother’s wife Musamat Baharan Khatoon received severe bullet injuries.

Area police receiving the information rushed to the village and shifted the deceased and injured to the government hospital for medical first aid. The injured were referred to Larkana hospital for further treatment.

The relatives of deceased Meer Chandio held a protest demonstration in front of Dakhan police station and later blocked the Shikarpur-Ratedero section of Indus Highway for arrest of murderers. However, the road was reopened for vehicular traffic after few hours.

On the complaint of Musamat Haseena Farooq Chandio, the sister of deceased Meer Chandio, the police registered an FIR against 16 persons including Sajjan Chandio, Sikandar Chandio, Ali Hassan Chandio, Shareef Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Altaf, Musamat Sasui, Musamat Zameeran Khatoon and others at police Station Dakhan. The cause behind the murder was said to be a dispute between the groups over a simple matter, area police added.
