Vow of legal action against those spreading online incitement in Sukkur

According to a statement by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Muhammad Sohaib Ameen, police have announced their intention to take strict legal action against individuals allegedly running a “false campaign” on social media with the aim of sabotaging the peace process in the Kacha area.

The warning comes as law enforcement agencies continue an operation to restore law and order and ensure lasting stability in the region affected by tribal conflicts.

ASP Ameen, who also serves as the SDPO for City Sukkur, announced that anyone spreading incitement or fueling tribal hatred would be legally deemed a criminal and prosecuted.

To encourage de-escalation, the police officer termed the act of apologizing for illegal activities a positive development.

He further warned that those who mock or ridicule those who come forward to apologize would also face legal consequences.

The ASP of City Sukkur urged citizens to support state institutions in their efforts for peaceful solutions and maintaining law and order.
