Wanted Vehicle Theft Gang Member Nabbed in Capital

A significant breakthrough has been achieved by the capital’s law enforcement as a wanted member of an organised car theft syndicate was arrested by the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU), leading to the recovery of a stolen vehicle.

According to a report by Islamabad police, the successful operation is part of a wider, intensified crackdown against criminal elements in the city, initiated under special directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

Acting on these instructions, the AVLU police team employed a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence to successfully apprehend the suspect.

The apprehended individual has been identified as Muhammad Yaqoob. A formal case has been registered against the accused, and further investigations into the gang”s activities are currently in progress.

Authorities have also renewed their appeal to the public, urging citizens to promptly report any suspicious individuals or activities to their nearest police station or through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline.

Officials emphasised that such cooperation between the public and law enforcement is crucial for eradicating crime from the community.
