Karachi, July 15, 2018 (PPI-OT): Municipal Commissioner DMC Central Waseem Soomro has ordered his sanitation department to shift the garbage taken out from the rain drains to dumping point immediately. He has given this instruction to avoid the risk of spreading dirt during monsoon rains should it fall. He has also instructed the Municipal officers to arrange for keeping the inside and surroundings of the polling stations within the jurisdiction of DMC Central. For this purpose, sanitation staff could be posted at polling stations. On the other hand Monsoon rain is also expected.
As the meteorological department has predicted rains within few days, it may fall during election and the polling stations may become swimming pools if the rain water is not drain out quickly. To meet this challenge Waseem Soomro has instructed the concern staff to arrange for dewatering pumps at every polling station to drain out rain water to facilitate the voters to cast their vote without break. It is to be noted that DMC Central is facing shortage of funds to meets it’s challenges even than MC is taking bold steps to keep the Municipal services continued to facilitate the people of DMC Central.
