Waste Reduction Imperative for Environmental Protection: Governor

Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi today identified the minimisation of waste at every level of society-from individual households to major industries-as essential for safeguarding public health and protecting the environment.

In a message commemorating International Zero Waste Day, the governor emphasised that curbing waste, conserving natural resources, and embracing a sustainable lifestyle are critical contemporary challenges.

He stressed that tackling this issue requires a unified approach, asserting that collective endeavours and a sense of shared responsibility are necessary to successfully embed the concept of zero waste within the community.

Governor Hashmi further stated that a reduction in refuse directly contributes to decreasing environmental pollution and ensures a more efficient utilisation of the nation”s natural assets.

He noted that such actions are a significant contribution towards securing a safer future for subsequent generations.

Concluding his remarks, the governor added that the government is actively championing the achievement of zero waste goals through the promotion of educational programmes, public awareness campaigns, and other sustainable initiatives.
