A 60-hour-long power outage at the fourth phase of the Dhabeji Pumping Station caused a severe disruption in water supply to Karachi. According to a spokesperson for the Water Corporation, K-Electric restored the electricity at 12:30 AM on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday after continuous repair efforts.

On Wednesday, November 5, three main pumps shut down due to a cable fault. As a result of this breakdown, the city faced a shortfall of 210 million gallons of water, severely affecting daily life.

According to the Water Corporation spokesperson, after the electricity was restored, the water supply across the city returned to normal. The prolonged outage highlighted the fragile state of Karachi’s critical infrastructure and the urgent need for maintenance upgrades to prevent future crises.
