Weekly Schedule for Mobile Vans Released to Ease Driving License Process

In a significant step to enhance public convenience, the city’s traffic authorities have launched a mobile service starting Wednesday to provide driving license facilities directly to citizens, especially residents of outlying and remote areas.

The deployment of these police mobile licensing vans has been directed by DIG Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, and Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Farhan Aslam, aiming to make essential services more accessible.

Inspector Imtiaz Khan, in charge of the Driving License Branch, released the weekly operational plan for the mobile units on Tuesday.

According to the schedule, the service will be available on Wednesday at Gate No. 03 on Holy Family Road and in Gulyana Bazaar, Gujar Khan. On Thursday, the vans will operate at Shah Bagh Stop on main Kallar Syedan Road and at Fawara Chowk in Raja Bazaar.

The mobile units will then be stationed on Friday at Jhawra Picket, Dhamial Road, and Misrial Chowk, and on Saturday at Car Chowk, Scheme 3, and Chak Beli Khan Road.

For the convenience of the public, the service will be operational from 9 AM to 4 PM at all designated locations.

Furthermore, a special session for rickshaw driving tests will be held on Sunday at the Old Waran Depot in Saddar.

CTO Farhan Aslam stated that the initiative aims to provide licensing services to the public at their doorstep, and confirmed that learner permits and full licenses for motorcyclists are being issued on the spot.

He encouraged citizens to take full advantage of this opportunity to obtain their driving licenses from their nearest mobile unit or established service center.
