Srinagar, July 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has urged the world community and human rights organizations to play role in stopping the ongoing bloodshed in Kashmir. Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in an extra-ordinary meeting with JKPL members Nisar Ahmad Rather, Riyaz Ahmad Dar, Aijaz Mir, Fayaz Ahmad and Shabbir Ahmad at his Kadipora residence in Islamabad said everyday Kashmir witnesses killing of children and youth, harassment, frequent searches and cordon operations. “It is high time world community intervenes and urges New Delhi to stop killing Kashmiris and resolve the dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
He said as far as JKPL is concerned, it always advocates peaceful and meaningful dialogue between Pakistan, India and the real Kashmiri leadership for lasting solution of Kashmir dispute Meanwhile, Voice of Victims (VoV), a local human rights group based in Kashmir, termed the killing of a 10th class student Faizan Ahmad Khan by Indian forces as brutal and the worst kind of human rights violation.
Faizan Ahmad, son of Dr Abdul Ghani Khan from Khrew Pampore was killed in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district by Indian forces. Condemning the brutal killing, the Executive Director of VoV, Abdul Qadeer Dar said Indian forces are carrying out the worst kind of human rights violations in Kashmir under the state patronage.
He said despite a full-fledged UNHRC report on human rights violations in Kashmir carried out by Indian forces, Indian government is on a mission ‘Operation Wipe Out’. He appealed to the UN Human Rights Council, world powers and international human rights organisations to take notice of the unabated civilian killings by Indian forces in Kashmir.
