Lahore:Health Minister Punjab Dr Yasmin Rashid launched the Lahore Wear Mask Campaign at the GPO here on Wednesday.
Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd) Usman Younis, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz Malik, Post Master General and other officials were also present on this occasion. The Lahore WearMask# campaign has been initiated by Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd) Usman Younis. Health Minister Punjab reviewed the Lahore WearMask# campaign model and gave away the first mask to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.
The Health Minister said, “I appreciate Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd) Usman Younis on successful launching of the Lahore Wear Mask# campaign. This campaign shall play important role in controlling Corona cases. Pakistan Post shall play important role in making this campaign successful. Captain (Retd) Usman Younis gave excellent services during Corona Pandemic as Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department. By the grace of Allah Almighty, Pakistan reported comparatively fewer cases than most countries of the world.
Corona is currently playing havoc in neighboring India. For any government, facilitation for its people is its top priority. The idea behind this campaign is to create awareness about the Pandemic. All stakeholders will have to play their role in controlling the Pandemic. Punjab is vaccinating people at a fast pace its 657 vaccination centers. I also congratulate Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik for successful launching of drive through campaign in Punjab.
Lahorites will prove themselves be responsible citizens by wearing masks. India is reporting a large number of delta variant cases. We can stop the transmission of Corona by 80 t0 90 %. Under this campaign, more than 10 million people will be given face masks. Commissioners of in the rest of Punjab may take similar initiatives. Corona has not gone anywhere and we can protect ourselves by getting vaccinated and by taking necessary precautions. The entire world including India appreciate the way Pakistan fought the Corona Pandemic. We must be grateful to Almighty Allah for us being able to control the cases.”
Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd) Usman Younis said, “I am thankful to the Health Minister for being part of the launching event. In the COVID-19 affected areas of Lahore, more than 10 million masks shall be distributed. Lahore WearMask# is one of the biggest campaigns launched without government expense. Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid performed excellent services despite her illness. I will present her as role model for all politicians in my book. I also appreciate Pakistan Post for becoming part of the initiative.”
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Mudassar Riaz Malik said that the Drive through Vaccination centers have been set up as per the vision of Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Commissioner Lahore Captain (Retd) Usman Younis. By observing safety measures, we can protect ourselves from the Corona Pandemic.
Post Master General in his address said that the LahoreWearMask# initiated by the Commissioner shall be made successful. He saluted the services of Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid for battling the Corona Pandemic in a successful manner. He especially appreciated the employees of the Pakistan Post for performing duties during the pandemic.
