Youth should adopt Iqbal’s vision for national development: Deputy Mayor Karachi

Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad has emphasized the key importance of the younger generation seeking guidance from Allama Iqbal’s profound thoughts for the promotion of national development and prosperity, and urged them to make knowledge and decisive action their guiding principles.

In his address today on the solemn occasion of the death anniversary of the Poet of the East, Allama Iqbal, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad highlighted that the distinguished philosopher taught the Muslim community of the subcontinent important lessons of intellectual awakening, selfhood, and freedom of thought.

Mr. Murad further emphasized that Iqbal’s poetic work is more than just poetic creations, rather, it serves as a dynamic and enduring message that continues to enlighten minds even today.

The Deputy Mayor further added that through his eloquent poetry, this great poet-philosopher instilled courage, determination, and passion in a population shackled by the chains of slavery.

He also reminded that the Poet of the East played a crucial role in presenting the vision of a separate Islamic state, a concept that later materialized in the form of Pakistan.

Explaining Iqbal’s philosophy, Mr. Murad stated that the principle of selfhood primarily directs individuals to understand their inner identity and inherent capabilities.
