Quetta’s Zarghoon Road has been plunged into daily traffic chaos due to extensive daytime road construction, severely impeding the flow of vehicles and causing considerable distress for thousands of daily commuters.
According to a report today, the ongoing infrastructure project, situated on one of the city’s busiest arteries, has necessitated the closure of various sections, resulting in extensive tailbacks. This has directly impacted individuals travelling to their workplaces, schools, and commercial establishments, forcing them to endure prolonged delays and considerable mental strain.
Local residents voiced strong disapproval, stating that conducting construction activities during peak daytime hours has not only normalised traffic congestion but has also critically hampered the movement of ambulances and other essential service vehicles.
In response to the persistent gridlock, citizens have urged that all construction operations be shifted to nighttime. They contend this change would help maintain regular traffic flow during the day, thereby alleviating public inconvenience. Furthermore, they appealed to relevant authorities to promptly address the situation and implement a comprehensive alternative traffic management strategy.
