107 more quack-clinics sealed in Sindh

KARACHI:The anti-quackery drive of Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) is continued across the Sindh province and 107 more clinics run by quacks were sealed in a week.

The rigorous drive launched by Anti-Quackery Directorate of SHCC against quacks continued in different districts of Sindh. The anti-quackery teams sealed 107 clinics in a week: 71 in Larkana, seven in Hyderabad, 20 in Mirpurkhas, five in Ghotki and four in Karachi.

The SHCC teams also issued warnings to 31 other clinics in Larkana and Hyderabad. The Anti-Quackery Directorate has sealed more than 300 clinics operating by quacks across the Sindh province so far out of which 44 sealed in Karachi city.

The SHCC had formed various teams for its field operations for expediting its efforts to combat quackery in Sindh. Special focus was directed towards Larkana district to take immediate actions due to recent cases of spread of HIV incidence in district.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SHCC also attended the meeting in Larkana with the officials of health department. He met with officials of PMA, Homeopathy and Tibb fields and briefed them about functioning of SHCC.

Meeting was also held with DIG and Commissioner Larkana to streamline the activities against quacks and discuss process of collaboration between SHCC and government functionaries.
