15 houses gutted near Naundero

NAUNDERO: Fifteen houses were gutted as a cracker flame hit a makeshift house in village Rahooja near here on Monday which engulfed all the homes.

Entire valuables of the affected villagers were burned to ashes. They were sitting under open sky. Nobody from the district administration or the local government representatives had reached them to support. The villagers tried there best at the very outset to extinguish the fire with help of handpump water but failed due to blowing winds which spread the fire.

Finally fire brigade of Naundero Municipality reached the scene after one hour and extinguished the fire. However, they were only able to shift there children, women and cattle to safer places but couldn’t saved other material including saved food grains. The affected villagers including Akhtiar Ali Rahoojo, Abdul Kareem Rahoojo, Gulbahar Rahoojo and others told newsmen that childrens were using crackers outside their homes due to which their houses were burnt completely but despite information to the elected representatives, nobody reached there to inquire about there sufferings and wellbeing.

They said that they had suffered loss of millions of rupess due to burning of their 15 homes and their families are sitting now under open sky in this hot weather. They demanded construction of their houses and financial help.
