ATC awards death sentence to three terrorists

KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday awarded death sentence to three men affiliated with a banned outfit in the murder of a Tableeghi Jamaat’s Amir.

The judge pronounced the verdict after recording evidence of witnesses and concluding arguments.

According to the court, the convicts Furqan, Faisal and Turab were found guilty for killing famous Islamic scholar and Tableeghi Jamaat’s amir, Faisal Umer Khan.

The judge awarded death sentence to convicts for two counts.

The court also handed over 10-year imprisonment to the accused in attempted to murder case of Aziz Saad, who was injured in the same attack.

The court also awarded life-time imprisonment to two facilitators, Azhar and Riffat, in the same case.

The accused had killed Faisal and injured Saad in February 2014 in jurisdiction of Sharifabad police station.
