SHC orders probe into Hindu boy’s sexual assault

Karachi:Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday was informed by the police that a Hindu teenage boy was sexually assaulted some two and a half years ago and three suspects, including the prime one, had been arrested.

SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh had taken a suo moto notice and sought reports from relevant Deputy Inspector General of Hyderabad and the Senior Superintendent of Police Sujawal. In Saturday’s hearing, the police officials complying with the court’s directives submitted the report and informed the court that prime suspects Arbab Ibrahim Memon and two others were arrested.

The report revealed that the boy was sodomized some two and a half years ago by influential persons who kept the family blackmailing through footage that was made during the offence. It added that the accused persons had demanded money from the affected family and threatened to kidnap its daughter if they fail to fulfill the demands.

The court was also informed that the case was lodged and the affected family had been shifted to safe place. Directing the DIG and the SSP to carry out impartial investigation, the court put off the hearing.

As per reports, the video went viral on the social media that showed a Hindu teenager boy was brutally tortured and sexually assaulted by the son of feudal lord and other influential persons of the area at Daro city in Sujawal district. The main suspect Arbab was a local leader of Pakistan Peoples Party.
