Awareness campaign for Coronavirus

Karachi: Sindh Healthcare Commission continues its awareness campaign for Corona Virus and its precautionary measures for public and healthcare providers.

Director Complaint Dr. Amir Hussain Sindh Healthcare Commission attended a workshop on Precautionary Measures for “Corona Virus Fears and Terror” at Social Welfare Training Institute Govt. of Sindh.

The workshop was attended by participants from public and private healthcare organizations.

Workshop was related to threats, treatment and precautionary measures for Corona Virus. Dr. Amir Hussain briefed the audience about role of Sindh Healthcare Commission and its efforts for achieving quality care in health services in Sindh province.

He also explained about the procedure for filing complaint at SHCC. Further he also attended awareness session on “Effective future Strategies of youth with Capacity Building “held at Social Welfare Training Institute Govt. of Sind where he highlighted the achievement of SHCC as healthcare regulatory body in Sindh Province.

CEO SHCC Dr. Minhaj Qidwai met with Mehmood Ul Haq Abbasi, President National Council for Homeopathy for discussing issues regarding registration of homeopathic Practitioners. He also emphasized the importance of awareness campaigns for registration of homeopathy clinics with SHCC.

CEO SHCC also met with Asim Rauf CEO of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) in Islamabad. He discussed the regulation concerning expired items used by consultants in their practice.

Directorate of Complaint, SHCC received till date total 128 complaints out of which 82 complaints are disposed of, 40 complaints are under process while 6 are sub-judice.

Directorate of Licensing and Accreditation, SHCC received 76 new applications for registration in this week. Till date total number of applications for registration reached to 10,576. Certificates were issued to 43 HCEs’ in this week bringing total number of registration certificates issued to 9509 HCEs’. The team inspected Hanif Hospital, Hafiz Medical Centre, and Moazam Medical Centre Karachi.

The Director Anti-quackery attended the consultative meeting held at PC Karachi to review the first draft of revised Breastfeeding Act and Rules and Baby friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) implementation plan. The Directorate of till date sealed 97 clinics in this week. Till date Total 3403 Healthcare Establishments (HCEs’) were sealed in Sindh. Total warnings for non-compliance issued to clinics are 1076 till date.
