IGP orders tightening security following Quetta blast

KARACHI:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam has ordered that security arrangements be beefed up following the blast in Pashtoonabad Quetta on Friday.

A police statement here said that the IGP had directed officials to take extraordinary security steps at all important places in the metropolis including sensitive installations, government and semi-government buildings, religious places, railways stations, airports, industrial and commercial areas and shopping centers.

The IGP said that snap checking, patrolling, random checking and measures against crimes should be enhanced. He said the prevailing security situation needed extraordinary measures to deal with any untoward situation.

He also directed police force to wear bulletproof jackets for your security too.
