ISLAMABAD:In occupied Kashmir, forceful demonstrations erupted in Kulgam district after Indian police and troops attempted to arrest a cleric.
The troops and police personnel after launching a cordon and search operation in the area tried to arrest a local preacher. However, the locals resisted the operation and pelted stones on the Indian forces.
The police and troops resorted to aerial firing and teargas shelling to disperse the protesters, triggering intense clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.
