JI launches “green Jacket” movement

LAHORE:Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that outgoing Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had left the scene after playing an active role marking the protection of the common man’s interest and a glorious tradition of the rule of law, and his tenure would become a part of the history of the judiciary.

Talking to the media after launching JI’’s “Green Jacket” movement stressing the need for the solution of the people’s problems and social reformation in the city, he however said that the positive and the negative aspects of the Justice Saqib Nisar’s decisions would come to the fore in the days to come.

Liaqat Baloch termed the narrative of the new Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa’s narrative as most impressive and in line with the working of the judiciary in which the weaknesses and the requirements of the judicial system had been spelt out. He said the need of the hour was to establish the supremacy of the constitution and the law and to provide prompt and inexpensive justice to the people.

Meanwhile, while talking to the Ulema and Mashaikh at Mansoora, he said that at a time when the country was facing numerous crises, the political and democratic forces were fighting with one another. He said if the parliament and the assemblies did not play their constitutional role, the democratic system would suffer.
