Khuhro denounces stopping Bilawal’s convoy

LARKANA: PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro Sunday condemned the stopping of his party chief’s convoy by Punjab police to visit shrine in Uch Sharif.

In a statement, Khuhro said it was the right of every party and candidate to run its election campaign but stopping their chairman from going to Uch Sharif and removing keys from the vehicles were highly condemnable.

He said Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Supreme Court should take notice of this act. He said it was endeavour to allow some people and disallow some others. Khuhro said: “PPP is not afraid of such tactics. By stopping Bilawal in Punjab, rigging has already started before elections.

Meanwhile, PPP activists burnt tyres at Jinnah Bagh roundabout and held a protest demonstration against stopping Bilawal from visiting the shrine in Uch Sharif by Punjab police today. They were led by Fatah Bhutto, Aijaz Laghari and others.

Meanwhile, PS-11 candidate Moazim Ali Abbasi has said that banners of Nisar Ahmed Khuhro had been displayed in Larkana’s various localities including Gajanpur Chowk, Nishtar Road, Hyderi Muhalla. He claimed that Khuhro cannot take part in any election campaign adding it amounts to contempt of court as well. Abbasi said that PPP was gripped with fear because they were facing defeat in the upcoming elections due to past performance. He demanded of ECP to take notice of the matter.
