Kidnapped Dua Mangi recovered from Karachi

KARACHI:Dua Mangi, who was kidnapped from Defense area of Karachi by unidentified armed men a week ago, was recovered safely here on Saturday.

Her recovery was confirmed by Halar Mangi, a cousin of Dua Mangi. The incident took place 30 November evening, when some unidentified armed men attacked Dua Mangi and Haris Soomro when they were on their way to Bukhari Commercial area. The armed men kidnapped Dua and shot her associate Haris Soomro when he offered them resistance.

Dua is said to be niece of renowned columnist and writer Aijaz Mangi. Despite the lapse of two days, young woman could not be recovered and it raised many questions on the law and order situation of country.

The citizens around Sindh have reacted over the unlawful situation of the country. The citizens also took to the twitter and demanded her safe recovery.

Mubeena Soomro, a twitter user, wrote that four armed men kidnapped her cousin Dua Mangi from a local restaurant in DHA and shot her associate Haris Soomro who was in a critical situation.

Ayesha Siddiqui, a renowned writer and columnist wrote: “Men should stop leveling allegations against women in a society where woman are being raped and kidnapped.” She wrote they should raise voice for the protection of all women.

The twitter users wrote that Pakistan is a country where women are not safe. Mehwish Rehman wrote instead of raising voice for her safe recovery, people are talking on women’s dresses. However, Darakshan police had formed a special team to investigate the incident.
