KARACHI:Consul General of Germany Eugen Wollfarth asked the researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs to give more importance for the encouragement to the research work in the field of biosciences which has become now a source of change and health in our lives and saving our life also.
Presently much attention is being given to the research in the fields of climate change and global warming but research on biosciences requires same attention in the larger interest of human, animals and plants.
This he stated while he was addressing to the opening session of two days duration International conference on Applied Biosciences as chief guest, Yesterday. The conference was organized by Biosciences Department, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU). Those who also addressed to the opening session of the conference were also included on Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, MAJU Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim, Dean, Karachi School of Business and leadership (KSBL) Prof. Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed, Dean, Centre for entrepreneurial development, IBA, Karachi Dr. Shahid Qureshi and Conference organizer Dr. Maryam Shafiq. Dr. Huma Jawed was the host of this conference. Addressing to conference Consul General of Germany Eugewn Wollfarth said that like other countries, research on life saving drugs is given due attention in Germany and a number of companies are providing more funds in this regards which can be judge from pace work in research field.
Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, MAJU Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim said that scientifically advance countries are heavily investing in Genome editing technology is a result of basic research in biosciences. He said that research work is an important factor in the development of a University. He asked the academic institutes to collaborate each other for promoting research activities.
Mufti Yousuf Abdul Razzaq of SANHA Halal Associate, Shamshad Zarina of KU, Nazeer Ahmad Khan of Baluchistan University, Zahra Hasan of Agha Khan University, Serjey Nikolaev of INSERM, France and Afsheen Arif of Karachi University also addressed to the first day of the Applied Bioscience conference.
