Mayor inspects development work in Gazdarabad Hospital

Karachi: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said development works carried out in the city the members of KMC council and political parties are with me,  Supreme court’s clear directives that KDA, Master plan, CBCA and Water Board be handed over to KMC. All encroachments from amenity plots will be removed.

He expressed these views on the inspection of construction works of new block in the Gazdarabad Maternity Hospital, Nishter Road and while talking the media representatives.

He said the new block of the Gazdarabad Maternity Hospital will be constructed with a cost of Rs36 crores with addition of 100 beds and this 200 bed hospital would fulfill the requirements of this area and its construction work will complete in 2018.

He said new latest machinery and medical equipment worth Rs15 Crore will be purchased for this hospital and construction work will be done with an estimated cost of Rs21 Crore.

Akhtar claimed that the Allied Bank has embezzled RS1.75 billion of KMC and the State Bank of Pakistan is not helping the KMC to bring this money back. No bank has this right to withheld or embezzle any amount of the accountholder. He said KPT owes 90 Crore rupees to KMC and it is injustice that KMC is urged to provide municipal facilities and no amount of KMC receivable from other organizations is paid.

He said he hope to get Karachi package soon from the federal government for development works in the city.

KMC hospitals are being provided with necessary medicines and equipment and machinery operation theatre, X-Ray machines, MRI and other essential machinery. Oxygen plat will be installed in the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for which Bahria Town is coordinated. Survey of the hospital will be done on Friday and soon this plant will be installed in the hospital.
